According to details, the defending champions of the Pakistan Super League, Quetta Gladiators, have been in contention before the start of the tournament. Sources say that Balochistan government has decided to withdraw from Quetta gladiators, which could result in the quota of PSL champions.
In this connection, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri also expressed reservations. The Balochistan government has accused the team owner of demanding opportunities for the players in Quetta, saying that if they were pressured too much, they would change the team’s name.
Team owner Nadeem Omar has replied that he will rename the team to four Gladiators.
Due to all this controversy, no person from the provincial government had participated in the Quetta Gladiators’ Kit Exhibition ceremony. The Balochistan government has also decided to hold the Quetta Premier League at the provincial level if the players in the Pakistan Super League do not ignore and do not match in Quetta. Provincial government says cricket players will get more opportunities in Quetta Premier League and will prove that they are capable of being part of any team including Pakistan Super League
It should be noted here that the Quetta Gladiators were given the opportunity by two players from Quetta, including Jalat Khan and Bismillah Khan. For the PSL 5, a young cricketer named Abdul Nasir has been added to the squad.
