Players delayed visit to South Africa due to workload but assured that they intend to send Pakistan to Pakistan soon
Cricket South Africa has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board that they will not be able to visit Pakistan next month, but assured that they intend to send the team to Pakistan as soon as possible. The three T20 matches between the two teams were not part of the series consisting of 2 Tests and 3 T20 matches in January next year.
Cricket South Africa informed Pakistan Cricket Board of their decision on Friday afternoon after reviewing the workload of the players.
“We wanted to host the South Africa cricket team next month, but we respect Cricket South Africa’s decision in this regard,” chief executive PCB Wasim Khan said. He said that keeping in view the workload of the players is the top priority of any cricket board and the decision in this regard is understandable. Wasim Khan said that Cricket South Africa intends to arrange this series of limited format as soon as possible. He said that both boards are now looking for an empty window in the LFP to finalize the series’ new dates.
