The world of cricket will never be the same without the great “Boom Boom”. Shahid Afridi’s name according to many experts, pundits and fans would go down as one of the most legendary of all times. He is arguably the greatest six hitter of all times and times are indeed sad as today was his last game for Pakistan. Afridi had announced before the start of the Asia Cup that he would retire from International Cricket following the conclusion of the ICC World T20 2016. The news took the cricketing world by storm and since then, all eyes have been on Afridi who has had one heck of a career many would not even dream of.
Batting first, Steve Smith starred with a wonnderful fifty and propelled his team to a huge total which was too much to take for Pakistan in the end.
Pakistan needed all their six hitters firing and thats what they got, bar one player. Sharjeel Khan got the greens off to a blistering start much like he did against New Zealand.
Ahmed Shehzad disappointed but Umar Akmal played very well unlike against New Zealand. Shahid Afridi came on and in his last International game, hit two massive sixes before falling to a cheap stumping off an Adam Zampa shooter. Watch Afridi’s two sixes in this video.
