Pakistan lose 2 early wickets vs Australia

Its an oustanding equation, an outstanding occasion and an outstanding feeling. It is one of those when as a cricket fan all you want to do is get all your work done as quick as possible, tune in to your tv sets and do nothing but hoot for your team in a crunch encounter. Pakistan and Australia who have had a long rivalry in the history of cricket will lock horns once again in the Arena of Mohali. The greens and the Kangaroos face off in what might turn out to be one of the most mouth-watering contests of all times. Both need a win in this game and a loss for either side could mean trouble.

After a poor Asia Cup tournament, Pakistan’s ICC World T20 2016 campaign got off to the best start possible. Shahid Afridi starred in what was a thumping victory and an emphatic statement or revenge against Bangladesh who had earlier beaten them in the Asia Cup.

Though, Afridi’s boys suffered two bad defeats following the Bangladesh win. Yet again they lost to India in a world cup game, in which Kohli was no match for the greens. Next up, Pakistan threw away a golden oppurtinity against New Zealand and allowed the Black Caps to cruise to the semi-finals, becoming the first team to do so.

Both Australia and Pakistan needed a win at any cost in this game. Australia batted first and put up a massive score of 190 plus. Chasing a mamoth total, the greens faltered early on.

Ahmed Shehzad was horrible yet again, falling in the cheapest of fashions to Josh Hazlewood, top edging the ball straight into the hands of the fielder. Sharjeel who was playing so well, 30 off 19 balls, fell to James Faulkner as Steve Smith worked his captaincy to perfection. Watch the two wickets in this video.

Pakistan’s criticism went sky high after the team’s dismal performances in the Asia Cup. In that tournament, the greens fell to disappointing defeats at the hands of both Bangladesh and India. But in contrast, their World T20 campaign started off brilliantly. Pakistan outlasted Bangladesh and got their revenge in some style thanks to a brilliant all-round effort from their captain Shahid Khan Afridi who was playing his last World Cup tourmament for Pakistan. Pakistan’s inconsistency came into play yet again, and they fell to both India and New Zealand in the following games
