AB’s scintillating 71 off 29 balls against England, 2nd t20

The heroics of this man have a long history and yesterday he added another chapter to it. this time, his battle was against the Englishmen and once again AB De Villiers showed that he is one man in cricket who can take on any opposition standing alone.

South Africa has taken away the t20 series as well with winning both the games and making a whitewash to the touring England. The first game was a thriller that England lost on the last ball of the game with a poor fielding effort from Topley.

This time, there was hardly anything that went with England in the second innings. AB came in and when he went out England were out of the equation. AB faced 29 balls and hit 71 to wipe out England’s chances in the game.

AB hit 6 sixes and 6 fours though his sixes should be termed as monsters because they were all high and long and covered the distinct parts of the grounds. This is a known fact that when AB hits them they stay hit no matter at what ground the game is being played upon.

England had their chances but in the first half. They should have batted well in the death overs but the likes of Abbott, Rabada and Morris took the charge away from the England who in the 15th over were comfortably placed over 150 with 5 wickets still remaining.

England could not do better in the final overs and the South Africans gained the momentum. AB was the prime example of that carried momentum. He was as ruthless as he can get. His innings was appreciated in the form of the man of the match award while his teammate Imran Tahir walked away with the player of the series award.

England had a decent start and there at one stage cruising towards making a big total. But once the death over reached and the England started trying to react hard against the South African bowling line-up, the two of Abbott, Morris and Rabada ripped through the English batting line.

England who was once threatening the South Africans with a score over 200 could only make 171 all out in the final over of the first innings. The fast bowlers for South Africa did a great job in pulling things back in the final overs.
