Andre Russell bat becomes a debate, BBL 2016

Once again a West Indian player lands into the world of debates. Last year in the BBL it was Chris Gayle who was in the center of controversy and this year Andre Russell is right in his place. Russell’s bat was the very first thing people noticed when he came out to bat.

It was black yes your heard it right it was black. There was some pink but only in the grip part and then the sticker. Rest all the wooden part was black and that stunned everyone in the stadium. People has posted question on the legality of such bat as well.

The Big Bash League season six has officially started today. The Sydney Thunders are playing the opening game against the Sydney Sixers. The Sixers won the game by none wickets. Thunders failed to put up a good score a decent batting surface. Andre Russell when entered the ground to bat, there was a big black think in his hand and every eye in the ground was on that thing. Soon the crowd and the commentators realized that it was a bat. Now it was full black with hint of pink on it.

The grip was of pink color and then there was some pink on this sticker. Russell must have painted his bat black it seems. He came out to bat and hit a couple of powerful shots with it. There was hardly any abnormality found in his bat apart from the color. Now people did post questions on the legality on this bat. Cricket Australia was quick enough to sense the matter and they now have addressed it as well. As per the Cricket Australia statement, there is nothing wrong with the bat.

It is totally legal and comes under the rules of the game. The color should not cause any issue to anyone. Now that was pretty quick from Cricket Australia. They made sure that no controversy should get born on the opening day of the second best T20 league in the world. At the moment this bat is the talk of the town. Every fan is interested to know why and how Russell managed to get his bat black. The West Indian all-rounder has not yet spoken anything regarding his bat. But it seems soon his answer will be on the media. The BBL has kicked off and we saw a massive crowd on the opening day of the event. The ground was jam packed. Australians surely love cricket and especially the BBL is at the top of their list.
