Azhar Ali Made Debut Triple Century and Set a Record for Pakistan

On Thursday, 13th October 2016, Pakistan Test cricket has reached its zenith, with the beginning of its 400th Test against the once mighty Caribbean side. Another history has been created by the most un-certain, yet, exuberant team in cricket, as Pakistan has made debut in Day/Night Test cricket with pink ball. After much ado on the introduction of pink ball, it has only recently been decided that the same be adopted in Day/Night Test cricket. Being the foremost in Asia, this is only the 2nd Test with this innovation, after maiden won by New Zealand against Australia in November 2015.

The opening day of the first-ever Day/Night Test was made impeccable by a superb maiden century of Vice Captain, Azhar Ali, equally supported by young Sami Aslam, the victim of nervous 90s. The opening stand scored 215 valuable runs, i.e. the 4th highest opening partnership in country’s history. It is not only the highest made at Dubai, but, also the highest in Day/Night Test cricket.

The talented batsman has scored his 11th Test century off 184 balls, hitting 10 fours, while he is playing his golden jubilee(50th) Test.
